Events March 2018

Visitors are welcome to step back into history and experience eighty acres of stately trees and statuary in the beautiful blend of nature and art that is Elmwood Cemetery.

Please come by the Victorian Carpenter Gothic Cottage which serves as our Visitor Center for maps, audio tours, picnic tables and handicap accessible restrooms. Research assistance is also available in the cottage, and security is on the grounds during business hours.

Once you register for an event through Paypal or over the phone you will be added to the registration list for that event. For Paypal registrations, you may print your receipt or save it to your mobile device, but it is not necessary. You can simply give your name, or the name of the purchaser, when you arrive for the event.

Lunchtime Exercise at Elmwood

The weather's cooperating and we need to get out in it! Who's with us? Meet a staff member at 11:30 am in front of the office for a 20 minute walk through the cemetery. We'll walk exactly 1.1 mile, get some of our steps in for the day, and you'll be encouraged to ask any cemetery questions you might have.

This is a pilot program for Elmwood and free of charge to all participants. No sign-ups are required. We'll walk the following Wednesdays: March 14th, March 21st, March 28th, April 4th, and April 11th.

Walk with us though Elmwood. You'll be glad you did.

Easter Egg Hunt

The cemetery staff and volunteers invite our youngest of friends to join us for an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 24th at 9:00 AM! This free, fun event is open to kids up to age 10.

Make sure to bring your Easter basket so that you can find plenty of eggs. We'll hide a prize egg, too. The Easter bunny will even be joining us for photos!

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required! Simply email historian [at] elmwoodcemetery [dot] org and let us know how many kids you are bringing.

We will begin on time - parents, please be prompt! Call with questions at 901-774-3212.
