Looking for an unusual and memorable venue? Elmwood’s historic grounds and beautiful settings can be the perfect backdrop for your special event. We have hosted weddings, parties, showers, dinners, teas, corporate retreats, and a host of other special events. If you like, we can even offer specialized history tours or programs as part of your function.



Our primary event venue is the beautiful Lord’s Chapel. Its soaring beamed-ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows bring the natural beauty of Elmwood inside. The chapel has moveable seating for up to 60 and rental includes the use of an upright piano, and a sound system with one movable podium-microphone and a CD player with one auxiliary input. Reception and dinner set-ups are also available.


Several outdoor locations are also available for special event usage, including the Cottage Garden and the paved area between the Cottage and the Lord’s Chapel (often used for tented events). Locations in the cemetery proper are not generally available for rental, although arrangements may be made for guided tours of the cemetery as part of your event.


The Lord’s Chapel at Elmwood rents for $300 for the first hour and a half; additional hours are $300 each (though the price is negotiable depending on the specifics of your event needs and total hours requested). Weddings booked at Elmwood may hold a rehearsal at a mutually agreed upon time during regular business hours at no additional charge.

Charges for the use of the grounds vary on a case by case basis depending on your total needs. Any event ending after 4:30 pm will be charged an additional fee of at least $125 to keep the grounds open past our normal closing time.
