CANCELED African American History of Elmwood Cemetery

THIS PRESENTATION HAS BEEN CANCELED. TICKET HOLDERS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FULL REFUNDS. WE WILL OFFER THIS PRESENTATION AGAIN THIS FALL ONLINE.

For almost 170 years, Elmwood Cemetery has served as the final resting place for all Memphians. African American individuals who contributed to the heart and history of Memphis and the United States rest at Elmwood Cemetery, and we seek to shine a light on some of these stories during this in-person presentation being given by Elmwood's Executive Director Kim Bearden. Saints, politicians, physicians, musicians, attorneys, and more will be featured.

This presentation is being given on Sunday, August 1st at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Elmwood Cemetery. The cost is $20 per person. If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask for safety. Refreshments will be served.
