Elmwood residents hail from all over the world--Italy, France, England, Greece, and Ireland are all represented in the city of Memphis and Elmwood Cemetery, too. Elmwood has always been open to people from all walks of life.
Visitors are often surprised to find headstones written in German or Greek inscriptions. Chinese characters, Spanish and Arabic appear on the monuments found at Elmwood.
